Organize Your Emails (In 3 Simple Steps)

Spread the love

So what happens after you read an email?

Does it live in your inbox together?

Do you drag it into a folder?

Do you open it over and over again? (I mean the ones from me of course.Β πŸ˜‰

I don’t know about you – but I am bombarded with emails. And it can definitely get overwhelming.

Especially seeing a number like 5,363 emails in your inbox. What!!

In my quest to simplify, I’ve read a lot about managing emails. And the truth is, I haven’t been able to stick to any one method.Β

Until now.Β

Check out my easy peasy way I stay clear from hundreds, even thousands, of emails in my inbox and stop feeling overwhelmed every time I look in there.

So what do you think about this approach? Think it will work for you? Be a sweetie, and let me know in that beautiful comment box below. πŸ˜‰

I so appreciate your time and love. And I’m sprinkling an extra batch of happiness dust for you this week. πŸ˜‰

xoxo,
Mridu

P.S. Stay tuned for the big unveiling of Power House Ultimate this week!Β

I do a combination of your system and the folders system. Some emails are labelled and sorted into folders as they come in (e.g. store flyers), others are labelled but stay in my inbox (e.g. emails from websites like this one), and some emails don’t get any labels.

I sit down a couple of times a day and process what is in my inbox. I skim emails and then archive them, with some of them getting labels (e.g. shipping info, registration codes, etc.). It only takes a few seconds per email. If there is something I really need to take care of, it sits in my inbox until I do it–taunting me about my inaction. πŸ˜‰ Seriously though, my inbox is empty or near empty most of the time. It also helps that I am merciless about unsubscribing from email and that store flyers skip my inbox entirely, and I follow the two minute rule when it comes to replying to emails.

Heather, you have so many great nuggets of wisdom in your message, thank you! I LOVE the 2-minute rule. Also, I love that you’ve found a system that works for you. There’s no “one way fits all” – and finding what works for you is more than half the battle.

I see we both use the same idea of letting emails sit in your inbox until we’ve taken action on them. They taunt me too! πŸ˜‰

Thanks again Heather for your inspiration. xo, mridu

Thanks for the video about managing emails! Appreciate it so much, Mridu! I think a combination of an “Archive” folder and some other specific folders will probably work. I shall give it a try.
