Holiday Shopping Organized

Spread the love

I don’t know about you but I have a really hard time holiday shopping before the holidays. I find that interests or styles change, so I can’t really buy stuff far in advance.

Take my son for example.

He was obsessed with the Rubik’s Cube (yes, the 1980’s phenomena), and if I’d bought some variation of it three months ago as a Christmas present, he wouldn’t even want it now.

Apparently that wasΒ so October,Β and he’s since moved on to a chess fascination. (Clearly he gets his brains from his dad). πŸ˜‰

And one thing I’ve had in mind for my hubby for a while is a leather briefcase. But he already bought himself one on Black Friday. Good thing I didn’t get one in the Fall to save for Christmas.

So here I am, it’s December and I have a lot of shopping to do. But I’m not stressed about it because I have a good plan and I know I can knock ’em all out pretty fast.

In fact, it’s a two step plan and I can’t wait to share it with you in today’s vid.

After you’re done watching I’d love to know which of the tips you’re going to put into action as you embark on the holidays.Β

Please be a total sweetie and let me know in the comments. (I love putting stuff down in writing because it really helps me take action…and I’m betting it will help you too!)

Wishing you a peaceful, stress-free and bargain filled shopping experience ahead.

With love,
Mridu

Perfect gift for certain people–particularly people who have
EVERYthing. A loan(s) at $25 each at Kiva.org. You or the recipient can select the loan–the the recipient can reloan it
again and again–the gift that keeps giving–and you don’t have to leave home to do it. The people I have given this to have
been thrilled to know that someone in Africa or other parts of
the world can send their kids to school, buy groceries, or
plant crops.

Edie, I LOVE Kiva. I support them too and it’s just the most amazing feeling to see your $$ building someones life, work and family. Thanks for sharing this great resource friend! xo, mridu

Great idea to consolidate your shopping ! I do think there are some items that can be gathered throughout the year but having that list as you do the main trip is so much better than “wandering and wondering” at the stores ! This is both very tiring and unproductive ! Thanks so much for your tips !

Mridu

You’re so welcome Dal. Glad it found them helpful. And oh my goodness – how much that one list has helped before hitting the stores. Don’t leave home without it! πŸ˜‰ xo, mridu

The consolidation idea sounds perfect! I love that idea. I did that last year with my great nieces & great nephews (all under the age of 8)…I gave each of them Christmas PJ’s with a Christmas book specific to their age. They all live out-of-state from me and I would not be seeing them on Christmas Day; so I mailed the gifts out in early December. This way they could enjoy the PJ’s all month as well as the books since they were Christmas-themed. This year I am giving each of them arts & crafts supplies. Your video got me realizing that I’ve been doing the consolidating idea for the kiddies on my list – but not the grown-ups! Thank you for sharing this video – this is going to really get me brainstorming ideas so I can consolidate for everyone on my list!

Mridu

Diane, thanks for the great gift ideas. Seriously, it helps so much to brainstorm with others. I love the PJ idea. Adding it to my list. πŸ˜‰ And I’m so glad this was helpful for you too to think about adult gifts. Wishing you anxiety-free shopping, my dear friend! Love, Mridu

I’m lucky because our family are big readers. I can hit the bookstore and walk out with 5 gifts done in a single store e.g. History for my dad, mysteries for my sister etc. enjoy the holidays !

Mridu

Love that! You could drive yourself nuts and get different things for everyone every year, but you know what they love and what they appreciate. So the gift is about them – not your desire to find something unique or different every year. I think too many of us get caught up in “raising the bar” every year. Thanks for sharing Carolyn. xo, mridu

2 girlfriends and I get together each year for our birthdays and holidays lunches. We started having Amazon Wishlists so we know what each other would like for birthdays or Christmas! It has worked out well. We started doing for nieces as well to cut down brain power in “thinking” what to get for kids. Yes, definitely have a list of people to shop for and I prepare similar gifts for groups of people like teachers, colleagues at the office, business associates, clients, etc.

I LOVE that Tiffany! So, so smart. I think of “wishlists” for kids but it’s so appropriate for adults too. Thanks for the great idea! xo, m

I make the holidays go smoother by shopping all year, picking up “perfect” gifts when I see them, and keeping them organized and in the same place so I know what I have. I try to stay out of the malls in December because I find the crowds super stressful.

Mridu Parikh

Sounds like a great plan. πŸ™‚ I also avoid the malls. OMG – what a nightmare! πŸ˜‰ Happy holidays Heather! xo,mridu
