Get Rid Of Feel Bad Clutter

Spread the love

Don’t you love feeling…good?

I mean who doesn’t, right?

Yet, we put ourselves in situations that make us feel anything but.

Like, for weeks I forced myself to go to a Pilates class when I’m so much more of a Zumba person. But everyone told me that’s what I “should be taking.”

Like, you get wrangled into a committee and the truth is, you’re really not into it at all. But you did it because you were “supposed to.”

Like, you agree to go to lunch with someone just because they asked. But with your tight schedule and other priorities, it’s really not something you look forward to.

It’s no fun to put yourself in situations that don’t feel good.

And it’s an equally icky feeling to surround yourself with STUFF that doesn’t feel good.

It effects your thinking, your space and your relationships.

So that’s why I can’t wait for you to watch today’s video. You’ll learn:

  • what YOU might be holding onto
  • how to get rid of clutter that brings you down
  • what I recently let go of that used to make me feel really bad

And when you’re done watching, please let me know which item you’re going to say “buh-bye” to.

I think you’re going to feel really great once you do.

Thank you so much for your love and support.  Always wishing you peace and happiness.
XOXO,
Mridu

Ok so here’s what I recently let go of. I had some stuff from a past relationship, that was not a good relationship at all. I’ve held on to a few things from that time to remind myself how far I’ve come. (Have I told you lately how amazing my hubby is??) But I realized the few times I’ve come across these things and look at them, they bring me down. Like a black cloud. Instead of reminding me how far I’ve come, I always end up thinking about what how dumb I was. Not good! So just like that, they’re gone and of course now I’m thinking…why did I wait so long?? 😉

Now I’d love to hear from you. xo, mridu 🙂

You hit the nail on the head with the clothing from “2 sizes ago” example. But part of my problem has been not just the items no longer fitting – but I wasn’t able to let go due to the items being in excellent condition, i.e., “I can’t through somethings away that is virtually brand new!” Needless to say, I now have fewer items in my closet – the letting go action has put a bit of a spring in my step. Thanks!

Letting go IS really gratifying Sharon. Thanks for sharing that. But yes, I get how hard it is to part with things that are in great condition. The best way I talk myself through that is by reminding myself that donating these items is an easy and kind way for me to give back and show gratitude for all that I have. The truth is, I don’t give the amount of time or even money that I’d like to give to people in need. So I feel like donating my things is a way to do that. And it also makes me appreciate that I have things in excess (whereas some people barely have enough to make ends meet). When I go through that mental exercise, it’s so much easier for me to let go. Hope that helps you too! xo, mridu

The nice thing about letting things go that are in great condition and donating them is that not only do you feel good about getting that space back and taking control of your life… but you can help other people who don’t have those things that they need, sometimes so very desperately! Double feel-good there. 😉 Wonderful advice, Mridu

Couldn’t have said it better myself Brenda. 😉 Thanks so much! xo, mridu

Hi there! This is along the same vein as the letting go off things video, I was wondering if you have any videos about organizing your own yard sale because I need badly to get rid of a lot of things and i would love to donate, but as a single mom living with epilepsy and chronic pain, I really need the money! Thank you!

I woke up this morning late (9:00) and looking at my day and not wanting to do anything, so I am here with you and thankful I have some one to help me. I’m at active 81 yrs woman and I love organizing. I got my kitchen cabinet & pantry all organized after watching you yesterday. I have my closet in my room all done so know I need to work on getting rid of too many clothes. As I write I get more energy to get up and do it. I thank The Lord for people like you to encourage me. I really enjoy your video and looking forward to the next day…

How time flies-Good advice. Let go of your past. I have not done, I keep thinking of my past and it is gone.
Have a great day, Mindu

I feel that my cookbook collection is way too large and some of the space they consume could be put to better use. I’ve attempted tor reduce the number I own in the past to the books having to fit my bookcases. I have renewed my vow to reduce the number even more once again.
I’ve started organizing my own personal cookbook. Now that might not sound like much; however I still have a “lot” of cookbooks. I’m slowly going through each cookbook for recipes I’ll make and either scanning or typing the recipe for inclusion in my own personal cookbook. As I make there recipe I am taking a picture and including it with the recipe. I’m using Microsoft “Word”, Times Roman font, half inch top and bottom margins, with 1 1/2 inch side margins. Can print on both sides of page and still hole punch for inclusion in 3 ring binder. Then I find someone else who wants the cookbook and gift it to them. So far I gifted over 20 on individual basis. Used some other ones (brand new) as door prizes at group meetings. Sold door prize tickets for $1 each and each person who bought ticket got to choose which cookbook that he or she wanted. Ticket money was donated to that group’s charity. (I stated where the ticket money was going before tickets were sold.)

Carolyn, what a thoughtful and creative way to give something personal — while also clearing your clutter fabulously! That is truly inspirational. I love your commitment to simplifying while holding on to what is dear to you. Bravo. Thank you so much for sharing. xo, mridu
