You know what cracks me up?
People think that because I’m organized I must be crafty. (I’m gonna give Martha Stewart the credit for that one).
But it couldn’t be farther from the truth.
I can’t sew. Never used a glue gun. And I have no craft supplies.
But I am creative. π
And I love looking at things from new perspectives and finding other uses or using them in different spaces.
So that’s why I’m super excited to share today’s video with you. I’ll show you 5 ways to use everyday items in new ways – in your kitchen. Yup, just where you need ’em most.
And when you’re done watching, here’s what I’d love to know from you:
- Can you use any of these hacks in your kitchen?
- What other awesome hacks do you use? (Don’t be shy – be an inspiration!)
Alrighty sweet friend. Puh-lease hop on over to the comments and do your thing. I can’t wait to see you there.
And as always, you rock and I can’t thank you enough for all your support.
To living simple and happy,
Mridu
P.S.Β Got a question you’d like me to tackle in a future vid? Just click here and shoot me a message about it. I’d love to hear from you!
I’m going out to get the under shelf racks today! Thanks!!!
Love the suggestions! I am definitely using the magazine holder immediately. I also need to get myself some more Lazy Susan’s and organize my fridge because that place is a mess! Will be experimenting with the other ones.
Awesome! I love them too. π xo, mridu
I’ve used magazine holders for folders with loose recipes, but I am SO going to put my foil and ziplocs in them Right Now. Thanks!
Yeah, that lazy susan thing (specifically in the fridge) has helped me so much. So glad this was helpful for you Charu. Thanks for your message! xo, mridu
Yes!! Love when you already have something but can use it in a different way. Thanks for joining the conversation! π xo, mridu
Love the magazine rack ,idea!! Looking for some as we speak! Also I use a lazy Susan in my kitchen cabinet co all of our vitamins and medications, this saves space and makes it easy to find the one you are looking for.i also use a small breadbox on my counter for small plates and misc. items I use all the time. Looks clean and not cluttered! Thanks a million for your ideas LOVE THEM!
Love the last Susan in the fridge. Thanks for the tip!
So happy to help Ang! xo, mridu
You know I’ve seen people use the lazy susan for meds and I also think: “that’s such a great idea” – and then I forget to do it when I get home. π Thanks for the reminder! And I really appreciate all your support Diana. best, mridu
OMG. love this video. Maybe my favorite. I’ll use all 5 tips. Best for me was the tension rods to use as shelf dividers to store baking pans, pot lids, etc. vertically. And I too love magazine holders for holding all kinds of things – legal pads, notebooks, file folders, gift bags. Anything you might store horizontally, try using a magazine rack to store vertically. much easier access and nice look.
Are you snowed in, in TN, the way we are in Arkansas ??
Totally great ideas. The tension rod tips are pure genius!!!
Brilliant, creative, Mridu! So many problems solved at once. Really loved the lazy susan for the fridge and the tension rods for my pot cupboard.
So psyched it was helpful! Thanks for your message Shelley π xo, mridu
Awesome! I’m so excited for you. Feel free to sen a pic of your new tools. π xo, mridu
I’ll admit, I don’t have the tension rod thing in my house, nor did I come up with it, but have seen it and LOVE it. But do use the magazine racks, and those are SO helpful. Thanks for the other great ideas of how to use them.
Ok, so my kids went back to school today after 6 days off!! WHAAATTT?!! And literally we never had more than 1 inch of snow. But just so much ice. Lets just say that mama was going cray-cray!! π Hope you’re doing better in AK! xo, mridu
I wish I could buy lazy susans here in Finland, but not! Luckily I had a chance to visit N.Y. My souvenirs from there were 5 lazy susans! I use one for parfym bottles in our “girls room”. I also made one lazy susan according Alejandra’s advice.
I saw that lazy susan idea on Alejandra’s video too – LOVED it! And what a smart idea to use them for perfumes or make up or accessories for that matter. So smart! thanks for sharing! xo, mridu
I use metal stacking letter organizers to store smaller baking pans on a chrome metal shelving rack that I’m slowly converting to an open pantry look. A metal magazine holder holds extra large lids for my large cooking pots. An adjustable width shelf provides dual storage for my everything pan and a thermal bowl.
Large pots are behind my coffee cravats. Have to keep everything neat and clean because they are part of my kitchen decorating theme. PS. Cereal boxes can double for magazine holders. Let kids decorate for a unique art statement.
Carolyn, thanks for sharing that awesome idea. I love the idea of metal letter organizers for pans and lids. Brilliant! π xo, mridu
