3 Simple Ways To Transform Your Home

Spread the love

You know what I think? No Indian woman should be getting a perm! ;)Why couldn’t anyone have told me that when I was in seventh grade?!
It was bad. Really bad. Naturally straight, silky hair – gone all wrong.

But along with my boy cut, thick bangs (another terrrrrible stage), bob, and seriously big hair, that added two inches to my height (thank you 1990) – I’ve always been itching for a change.

But now that I spend less time on my hairstyles and more on my home, I often have the urge to to spruce things up around the house, (instead of my head).

I could buy new stuff, but the truth is, I really don’t need anything and I’m not ready to get rid of anything. (You know, trying to follow that one in, one out, rule).

So that made me think about the topic for today’s video: transforming what you already have. Now don’t get me wrong. I’m no Martha Stewart or even close.

You won’t be finding any crafty projects going on in my home (sorry mom!) but there are other ways to make changes that take minimal effort.

And the best news is – they can have a really big impact. Check them out in today’s video.

And when you’re done watching, please let me know which one of these ways you can use to bring a little (or a lot of) change to your home.

I can’t wait to hear what you’re going to do – over in the comments, sweet friend.

Thank you so much for watching and for all your awesome support.

To happiness, success and sensible hairdo’s!

Mridu, you are awesome! I’m doing all three! Thanks for the timely reminders. None cost any money (already have cleaning supplies and (gulp) stuff, just time (15 to 30 minutes or so), purpose (I want and need a change), and elbow grease (I’ve got this skill).

My kids have called me the re-arrange Princess for years. They tell people they would go to school and when they came home it was completely moved around. Sometimes it works.. Sometimes it doesn’t. If it doesn’t… Just move it back and try again. I always try to buy everything that can be multipurpose… Example… Bench that fits in the bathroom and the seat lifts up… You can put it next to the tub and use for that long soak… When guests come over… They can put their toiletries in it… We have just one huge bathroom… Extra people for dinner… I I’ll seat someone around the table. I have one small cabinet up high where I can’t reach and the guests never are drawn to, It has limited space that I dedicate to must keep sakes and rotate throughout the year to change the atmosphere in our home. Love it… Love you Mridu!

No, you are awesome for all doing all of these already! 😉 I LOVE changing stuff up too (and no-cost is just the icing on the cake). Thanks for joining the conversation Carolyn! xo, m

Rearrange Princess – you sound just like my mom – (in a really good way!) I swear every time I go home my mom has completely rearranged at least one room – and somehow always makes it look better. Thank you, thank you for sharing your great and practical ideas. LOVE them! You rock, Princess. 😉 xo, m

The ONE very transforming thing I would do is paint the few remaining rooms that were not done a few years ago. It makes such a wonderful difference. As for the rest of the house, I will leave well enough alone and stick with the basics (same as with hair) — the basics being repairs, maintenance, housekeeping, careful decluttering, and getting and staying organized. Thanks, Mridu, for this challenge…it really got me focused on a priority. (I also have straight hair that got permed…but should have left well enough alone.)

I am working on my office space. New floor. Less furniture.
And hoping to freshing it up a bit.

Janet, I love updating paint colors. In the last year alone, we’ve repainted our bedroom, guest room and our entire downstairs (living room, dining room and kitchen). Crazy,I know! But I agree, it makes an incredible difference. Tastes and trends change over the years – and a new color can completely change your mood. Thanks for sharing this Janet and I’m so excited for your big changes to come. And sorry about your perm too. WHAT WERE WE THINKING???!! 🙂 XO, mridu

Sounds lovely Beverly! New floor can be even more dramatic than a new paint color. So exciting!! Hope you love it! Thanks for sharing friend. xo, mridu
